LIDEFO Beekeeping Tours
LIDEFO developed a fledged bee friendly tour program in 2010 to enhance eco-tourism and this is already helping in the promotion of potential training projects in the rural communities.
Discover the rich diversity of Kasese District by traveling through the Rwenzori Mountain villages to learn the skill of beekeeping that is aiding subsistence farmers to generate income.
The tour from Kasese Town takes you past coffee and banana plantations, stunning scenery, and the friendly and welcoming foothill villages of Kasese District.
A Beekeeping expert will demonstrate the art of beekeeping and allow you to practice whilst wearing fully protective safety suits.

- Farmers collect their honey and bring to the beekeeping office where LIDEFO purchases their produce.
- LIDEFO filters, bottles and sells the honey to Kasese supermarkets.
- All benefits made from selling the honey returns to the LIDEFO Beekeeping project.
